This session is to provide a forum for researchers in autonomous technology and robotics to share the latest progress and establish cooperation,which welcomes new research results from academia and industry. This session is dedicated to the state-of-the-art and future needs in a number of areas related to the Autonomous Technology, including but not limited to Robotics, Design, Dynamics, Control and Sensors. Tendon/wire mechanisms, cable robots, parallel manipulators, soft robots, mobile robots, and marine robots in use today or in the near future for industry or defence will be discussed. Supporting technologies of autonomy, such as optimal design, dynamic analysis, control method, trajectory planning, and sensors, will be covered. Prospective research on prosthetics and exoskeletons, rehabilitation, haptics, and haptic interfaces, human-robot interaction is welcome.

This session is dedicated to the state-of-the-art and future needs of composites including (but not limited to) structural, polymer, nano, metal matrix and ceramic matrix composites related to defence technology or defence industries (such as automotive, aerospace, marine and infrastructure industries). The topics of interest include but not limited to
Physical, chemical, mechanical and other properties of advanced composites as well as their constituent materials.

Directed Energy and Pulsed Power
This session is dedicated to the state-of-the-art and future needs in a number of areas related to the Autonomous Technology, including but not limited to Electromagnetic launch technology, High power microwaves, Directed energy technology, Power conditioning and energy storage, Advanced electrically powered combat vehicles,System analysis and integration,Materials and Computational techniques in use today or in the near future for industry or defence will be discussed.
Modelling & Simulation in Defence Science & Technology
This session is to provide a forum for modelling and simulation in area of defence science and technology, to share and discuss current research and advances and visions for the future. The main topics will focus on computational modelling and advances on simulation methods, such as Molecular Dynamics Method, Phase Field Method, Mesh-Free Method, Finite Element Method and Other Novel Methods, as well as their multiscale coupling technologies. We will also be interested in advances on simulation and modelling for Material Damage under Loading, advances on numerical simulations for the Material Properties, etc.
Photoelectronic Information Technology
This section offers an excellent forum for exchanging information on the current state of the art, advances, and future directions in the field of optical devices, systems and their applications for national defense. The main topics will focus on technology development on optical systems design, optical measurement and inspection, infrared technology and applications, laser technology and applications, image sensing technologies (materials, devices, systems, and applications), computational imaging, three-dimensional imaging and related technologies, unmanned system and artificial intelligence, real-time image processing and deep learning, pattern recognition and tracking, image analysis algorithms.
